Avril – the full package tied with a bow

Sometimes you run across an outfit that needs no embellishment, and accessories would only detract from the beauty that is already there.  I fell in love with Avril in White from RFyre for this very reason.  The embellishment is in the layers of white silk, the sheer chiffon blouse that covers without covering the skin, the gentle twining of the embroidered vines along the front and back, and the cherry red bow on the standup collar.

This outfit is 3 outfits in one, one of the hallmarks you see often with RFyre outfits, which means, you get multiple wear options.  Wear the blouse and skirt alone, or with the leggings; or forgo the skirt and wear just the pants and blouse.

You may also choose with or without bow, but I couldn’t resist wearing the bright red bow.  It is like the cherry on top of the sundae.  It is just the right accessory, really…the only one you need, and what caught my eye to begin in this sea of shimmery white.  This outfit is the full package all tied up with a bow.

Delectable New Zaaralicious Skin

I was recently introduced to Zaaralicious Skins as a participant in the Model’s Workshop Spring Break, Spring Forward Fashion Show.  Being a bonafide skin addict, I was delighted at the quality of Zaaraliscious skins and wondered how I had missed them in my travels.  I have some beauties to share with you today, including a brand new skin introduced at the show for women of color.  I am modeling them for you in their unaltered state in some of the available skin/makeup options so you can see their beauty right out of the box.

I typically favor pale skins, so first on my list to share is the Zaara Pale Natural skin.  What I love about this skin is the fresh doe-eyed innocence it gives me.

I had the pleasure of wearing the Zaara Tan Smoke skin in the Model’s Workshop show, which comes complete with the smokey eyeliner for a sultry look.  Here is a picture of me in my MiDiS Patina Tonga swimsuit I wore for the show, which beautifully accentuates my Zaara Tan Smoke skin.

Finally, brand new to the Zaaralicious line, Oluchi Caramel Rio.  I will admit, this is the first time I have worn an ebony skin tone, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked with my shape.  It was like being introduced to a brand new me, leaving me to ask; “Who is that lovely girl in the mirror?”

Visit Zaaralicious Skins to see their full range of skin and makeup options and try the demos to find the one that’s right for you.

Organic Silk – In a League of its own

League‘s new Organic Silk dress is a wonderful date-night dress that shows the curves and makes you look so touchable.  Clean with modern lines, it has such a visibly soft texture, there is no denying it is silk.  Available in 8 luxurious muted colors, I chose Goldleaf, then time-warped to the future, with Antiope hair by Wasabi Pills and bold Catwalk makeup from Tattanooga.  An added is on special right now at COLLABOR88 for an introductory $88L until April when it will move to the League mainstore.

Get Going Now for Bargain Retro Chic

I had such fun putting together my Bargain Retro Chic look for you all today, but you must make haste, because bargains come and bargains go, and some of these wonderful deals will be gone before you know it.

From Lush Limited Apparel and Makeup, is the Just a Girl mesh striped corset.  I’ll admit, I purchased it the moment I saw it at the regular price because the bright blue and white stripes with the ruffled hem just made me smile.  Lucky you, though, if you hurry over to Lush on Thursday, March 22 you can bring it home as part of Fifty-five Linden Thursdays.

My hair and sunglasses are part of the March/Summer Abroad 1955-1960 theme going on at The Attic @ The Deck, where everything is just $95L.  To give me that retro look I was searching for, I’m wearing Exile‘s unrigged mesh hair with color-change ribbon called She Loves You and Miel Meow Peepers sunglasses from the Candy Floss pack.

Finally, by adding The Square bag in blue from Fleshtone, not on sale, but a bargain nonetheless at only $99L, and summery white harem pants with side-tie sash from the outlet at Milk Motion, I’m ready for sun-shiny days with a little pocket change still left over.

Weaving a web of silver thread

Black and silver…always better than black and white, because you sparkle; and this fun Opera set from Belladonna Couture does just that.  I love the casual ease of the half-Tee that at the same time is dressed up with silver bands at the sleeves and mid-drift.  The flared skirt is made for dancing.  Along with its natural, easy motion, the swirls of silvery horizontal stripes draw the eye to your legs.  The two-piece Opera outfit is also available in black with plum stripes.

You simply can’t go wrong with black and silver, because you have so much room to play with accessories to really make this outfit your own.  I chose magenta and lime as accents, and Finesmith‘s  Aesthetic Value – Fusion set and K-Code Purple Night boots were just the ticket.  This is one of my favorite parts of this outfit…if you look closely at my lips you will see not 1, but 4 different colors in the lipstick…how fun is that?  Lush Limited Apparel & Makeup is newer on my radar, but I love their Coco’s Colorblock Lip Stains to add a little funk to any outfit.

Carrying the horizontal striping from the skirt up, I’m wearing a headband from Lagyo in iron.  WTG Jewelry/Nail combo and black and silver heart earrings from the Cupid set, their St. Valentine’s Day gift for February, 2012, finish this ensemble.

Ripe for the Pickin – Melons, Tangerines, Berries

What could be springier than fruity hued separates, and I found some lovely and versatile pieces to share with you.  First, an Asian inspired print blouse by The Sea Hole.  This store is fast becoming a favorite of mine as Drinkinstein Sorbet’s clothing shapes drape soft and feminine, and her clever color combinations coordinate with a host of different solids in my ever-growing closet.  I love modern-look Asian prints, and this short linen strapless is so girly with its center tie, smattering of lemon/tangerine butterflies, and tiger in berry, mint and orange, making this a great mix and match piece. This blouse is on special now at COLLABOR88 in a variety of colors for only 88L.

I paired this lovely top with a mesh skirt by Kimberly Flagon of KIM in pink.  Another wonderful separate, this skirt moves with you, and works so well with a host of spring and summer pinks, yellows, and other pastels.   Come fall and winter, just watch and see… I am sure I will be pulling it out again to wear with a plaid big-shirt and maybe some boots and leggings for year round versatility.

Emerald Isle Separates Come Together

It be that time o’ year when the wee folk dance and the lads and lassies drink green beer and everyone is Irish for a day.  And St. Patrick’s day would not be complete without a bit o’ green, brought to you by Belladonna Couture.

AbbyRose Abbot has outdone herself with a plethora of mix and match separates in Emerald Isle Green, perfect for the holiday, but also wonderful to coordinate with the pastels and brights of spring and summer.  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Belladonna Couture is offering the full set through Saturday, March 17th, for a discounted $699L, after which they will be dissassembled into purchase separately pieces at their regular retail prices.

Two-tone Tank and Skirt

These pieces combine into a flirty St. Patrick’s Day dancing dress made up of the Two-toned off the shoulder tank and Green with Clover paneled skirt.  This tank is darling with asymetrical rusching along the empire waist and clover detail on the right shoulder.  The skirt has a hankerchief hem, longer in back than in the front, with clover stripes mixed into the two-tone panels and finished with a silver belt detail at the waist.

Pants Set

Not a clover in sight on these pieces, just a lovely spring to summer outfit that can be worn alone or split up into separates for a fresh vibrant punch of color.  Not just for the holiday, they pair strikingly with white, pastel yellow, even hot pink.  These versatile separates include a cropped jacked, wide belt-with-bow in grey and green, and green leather flared pants with back pocket details.

Short Set

Shorts do double-duty, acting as glitch pants under the skirt, but worn on their own, they have wonderful detailing including; green striped fabric, banded cuffs, slash front pockets, and back pocket detailing. Mix with the wide belt-with-bow in grey and green and the two tone tank to complete the look.

To cap off St. Patrick’s day, after a night of celebration, why not take a midnight swim in this holiday inspired bikini.  Being an Irish girl myself, I love the cute clover detailing on the low-rise bottom and left breast triangle of the top.  What a fun and sexy ensemble in which to perhaps…get lucky?
