Sky Haven Sneak Peek

A little get-away, my own cozy haven.  Here is my room with a view, compliments of Circa Living, because everyone needs their own personal hideaway, filled with neutral tones and accessories that pop.

And if you are needing a bit more room, the beauty of this skybox is that with a flat roof, you can build up.  I added on a patio area for my hot tub and outdoor entertaining.  The sky is the limit with this wonderful sky home.

The Art of Virtual Living

I recall speaking to an extremely talented home designer inworld not so long ago, and while I was commending her on her artistry, she chuckled and stated she wished her parents understood her designs as art, but that they simply could not understand why someone would spend money or want to live in a virtual home.

As one who has lived in a waterfall cave, a hobbit hole, a treehouse, a beach house, and currently a modern two-story apartment, to name a few…I am a bit of a home whore. I have found my sl home to be a place of peace and creativity.  It is a get-away where I can express myself and surround myself with luxury, or flights of fancy, that I could never indulge myself in real life.  In my sl home, with the soft cascade of water fountains, the gentle tinkling of wind chimes, and my favorite colors surrounding me, I have created a place of comfort, a haven to experiment and unwind, without ever needing to worry about house-cleaning or child-proofing. The artistry of an SL home is that it enables self-expression and a place of respite, all at an affordable price.  It is art anyone can enjoy.

Love endures through the flames

About a year and a half ago, 4 days in intensive care, 2 surgeries, and months of recovery taught me an invaluable life lesson.  Before that time, I had never allowed myself to need someone, hadn’t ever wanted that level of vulnerability, simply couldn’t bring myself to trust anyone to that degree.  Being forced to depend on someone, and joyously finding that they could be depended on, changed that.  It taught me trust on a deep and beautiful level, and created a bond that under ordinary circumstances, might never have been  possible.  Six months following my “walk through the flames,” the tables were turned and it was he who needed me.  It was a hard year for the both of us, and we each had our turn to rescue the other, but what we found was true love endures, and can even grow, through the flames.

The inspiration to share this story came after I snapped this pic through the fireplace between two rooms of my home.  This wonderful gem from C&D Designs is actually an entire wall with a modern pass-through fireplace that can be enjoyed from both sides, as this pictures so beautifully illustrates.

Modernly Organic

Even in charcoal, the sheen on Apple May’s mesh Day Time Maxi dress suggests brushed silk.  It makes you just want to reach out and fondle it.  This is a dress I want in RL, because I can imagine how soft it would feel brushing teasingly against my legs. Available in three lovely colors, this dress is undeniable comfort that makes me think of sunshine, bare feet and umbrella drinks.

In keeping with the organic theme, these pics were shot at Bazar Quality Homes and Furniture, where designer Ria Bazar creates the perfect blend of modern and organic.  I love her homes, with plenty of glass mixed in with natural woods, neutral tones, and water, water everywhere.  The feel is natural, airy, yet upscale and classy.  I just had to dip my Slink Tip Toes in one of her pools.

Nature even inspired my styling, as tree branches and birds adorn my UrbanLutz hair.  And since I was baring some skin to the sunshine, I thought what fun it would be to decorate it with henna tattoos from Lush Limited.
