Taste the Orient in your own backyard

This month’s Genre, with an East Asian theme, is just about to wrap up.  The offerings at Genre are easily one of the best bargains on the grid.  You can escape to the Orient without ever leaving home with the addition of one of Circa Living’s Ayumi Tea houses. There is a color for every taste, and at 100L a piece, that is a price that fits into anyone’s budget, complete with the amazing detail and quality Circa Living is known for.

Sunshine and Butterflies

With the help of a collection of Hope For Emilia designers, this outfit is all about sunshine and butterflies.  I find it an interesting combination of warm, fluttery, and fierce, starting with Miss Darcy’s sleek yellow mesh Marilyn dress in the color of Stella de Oro lilies.

Butterflies flit through the flowers of my hat and gently perch on my cheek to say hello.  Couture eyelashes from Boudoir and sweeping makeup from White Widow add a touch of exotic.   Coordinated with EMO-tions Yula hair, one of my favorite hairs for headbands, hats and other accessories, I am just a little ray of sunshine wherever I go.

Sweet Tentation by Fellini Couture

When temptation reaches a 10, you get Fellini Couture’s Tentation gown, exclusive at Hope for Emilia.  This gown just can’t be resisted with an inverted Asian-inspired shadow print and soft avant-styled leaves and branches making up the bodice.  It is both elegant and evocative in classic black and white.

In keeping with the avant theme of the dress, I blended a combination of Face Paint’s Eartha makeup with the black lip, and White Widow’s Paon in black and white, both of which are also exclusive Hope for Emilia offerings.  Capping things off, a modern shape on-hair from Urban Lutz called Cobra available at Hair Fair 2012.

Style like you have 100K in your pocket – MVW Day 2

Assignment for Miss Virtual World Academy Day 2 – Chic Casual Modern Model. Imagine you were on 5th avenue with $100,000 to spend on an amazingly chic casual understated look.

So here I am….stopping traffic. I channeled my inner J-Lo and Kim Kardashian for this styling challenge.  Luxurious fabrics and accessories was what I was after, so I started with a skirt I had in inventory that I just love, love, love from Zaara, in a blend of ivory linen and swishy silk, with a belted, high-waist.  For a morning fresh look, I kept my blouse simple, feminine, and summery, selecting a scarf halter top in a lovely geometric print and soft colors from Leezu.

Of course I needed a purse to carry all my lindens and a spritz of expensive cologne before leaving the house (if you inhale deeply and use your imagination, I bet you can smell it right through the computer).  Then the first stop of the day was the booN salon, for a casually intricate updo to display my pretty earrings. Now I’m ready for 5th Avenue, with perhaps a scone and latte on the way to keep my energy up.

And…the results of MVW Day 2…..Frolic said he’d open his shop doors to me, but just barely (not quite what I’d expected, but he didn’t elaborate).  He said he loved the lips, it was much better.  Then….GASP….he called me CUTE!  Now, cute in the real world is a compliment.  Sadly, in much of the modeling world, it is NOT.  Models are to be glamourous or fierce, not cute.  Cute is only acceptable in the fashion industry when combined with attitude.  So, I will need to un-cute myself.

Styling:

Hair: UAN168 in Chocolate – booN

Blouse: Cloe Top in green – Leezu

Skirt: Larin Skirt in Ivory – Zaara

Shoes: Forever Heels Gold – Glitterati

Earrings: LBD Gold Ethnic Earrings (Part of the Ethnic outfit) – Bare Rose

Bag: Resort Satchel Sky – Leverocci

Makeup: Opal Lipcolor Contessa – [mock]

The Mesh Collection by Amarelo Manga

This is what I imagine the women in the islands wear to the office.  No traditional business suits for them, but instead something fresh, chic, and patterned, like this blazer and belt combo from Amarelo Manga’s new mesh collection. Nylons…heavens no.  Instead, dressy shorts and a pretty pair of sandals.  And don’t forget a coordinating hair flower.  Now this is office attire I don’t mind wearing at all, because you can take it from day to an evening out without changing a thing.

Minty Fresh and Budding with Romance

I took this confection named Daria, by Sykao Adamski of Entre Mares, to the Rose Theatre because it was so soft and airy, I just had to twirl in it.  With a lovely smattering of tone-on-tone flowers and chiffon modesty panel and cap sleeves, this is a romantic dress for being swept off your feet.

With a soft mermaid shape to kiss the curves, low scooped back,  and long layered train, this beauty could easily be a wedding gown in white with the addition of a veil.  Fortunately for you brides-to-be, this dress also comes in a silver version, which is actually a sparkling white, despite its name.

Virtual Impressions Delphine jewelry in Silver was the perfect compliment, as the flowers in the jewelry are similiar in shape to flowers in the gown.  Finally, Naomi hair from D!va with its color-change scarf gives just a hint of accent color, while still keeping this look fresh and romantic.

Every Girl Needs a Sundress

Every girl needs a sundress, or two, or three or…..  There is nothing quite as casual, yet sexy as a short girly dress in stripes, solids, geometrics, or even satin sashed paisleys, and Blueberry‘s new Aika mesh sundress comes in all those varieties, 8 different styles and multitude of color combinations.

Here are just two of the paisley options in sherbert pretty colors.  First, the Summer in Orange with lavendar sash, a lovely color combo that is not often seen together. Paired with G Field Alex Patent Pumps with hi-heeled mary-jane styling and Exile Midnight in Paris hair with color change ribbon, I feel like such the girly-girl.

I also wanted to share Summer in Teal with orange sash, which indirectly, I had a hand in designing.  Blueberry made my day when she asked me to pick two colors that I love, and I suggested the teal and orange.  In a flash she had assembled it and passed it my way.  I was delighted and I hope you love it as much as I do.  Be sure to visit the store to see all the different designs and color combos this fun little dress comes in.
